Creating a lasting impact with regenerative clothing brand Nature's Hum

How planting trees for every purchase is helping to meet sustainability goals and grow customer engagement

Nature’s Hum is a brand helping everyday people reconnect with the natural world through fashion.

The label’s founder, Bre, was inspired by travel, a rejection of fast fashion, and the desire to create long-lasting products that consumers could cherish for years to come.

Specializing in 100% natural linen clothing for women, Nature’s Hum encourages play, tree climbing, exploration, and steps towards a more sustainable planet.

Alongside the use of natural materials, regeneration has always been at the core of Bre’s brand and she's set herself a target of 10,000 trees planted as a direct result of sales.

Through Ecodrive, Nature’s Hum plant 5 trees for every product sold, and they have quickly moved to nearly half of their target number.

While running a small business comes with its challenges, Nature’s Hum remains steadfast in their mission to spread the word about regenerative, earth friendly fashion.

To learn more, we sat down with Bre to ask her some quick-fire questions about launching, running, and nurturing a clothing brand.

Ecodrive: Hey Bre, thanks so much for joining us today! Could you give us a brief rundown of who you and your company are, how you got started, and how you're doing?

Bre: My pleasure! We produce 100% natural linen clothing for women. Think forest frolicking apparel and homesteading vibes, made for chasing chickens and/or toddlers. We got here by making the garments no one was making for us in a regenerative way that we morally wanted to support. We’re doing…mostly fine! Small business is a tricky thing, but we’re doing all we can to get our name out there.

Amazing. How important is sustainability to your customers?

VERY much so. We pride ourselves on being leaders in the cyclical fashion movement. Going beyond sustainability and further into regenerative. Most of our customers deeply value and conscientiously purchase from brands that back positive projects.

Why did you choose to integrate Ecodrive into your business?

We were looking for the most appropriate and easy way to plant trees for every garment sold. Ecodrive is an awesome solution.

How did you find the initial setup and management of Ecodrive’s technology?

Very easy! We switched to Ecodrive from a different tree planting company and the move was really simple.

Great to hear! How have you communicated your Ecodrive partnership to your customers?

We use website banners, weave it into each of our live sales pitches, include it in our ‘care guide’ that each customer receives after purchase, and mention it in all marketing handouts.

What impact has partnering with Ecodrive had on your key business metrics?

Customer engagement has definitely been boosted by our commitment to tree planting. It’s always an easy selling point for grabbing our customers’ attention!

How do you practice sustainability in your own life?

I try to minimize waste and only spend money in ways that I know are largely conducive to a green moral footprint.

What’s one piece of advice that changed your business?

You can’t ‘make’ a company sustainable…It has to start in that way and hold sustainability at the core of its heart and purpose.

What are you working on for 2025?

New lines of clothing, getting closer to our tree planting goal, and hoping to spread our message and grow the business in larger ways online.

What’s your favorite tree?

A juniper/yew tree (both different but from the same family). Or a mango tree (depending on what part of the world we’re in).
